With close to 7 years of experience working in various SaaS marketing verticals, I come with a rich hands-on experience on product launches, positioning & messaging.
Right from my college days, I wanted to build a product, be it a physical/hardware or a SaaS product. Although I’m from a Computer Science Engineering background, I couldn’t code well. Writing is something that always came naturally to me, and that’s how I ended up at Zoho as a Technical Content Writer. After gaining some work experience, I passively built 2 micro SaaS products and came to a realization. More than the tech side, I loved researching the market and competitors, talking to customers to understand their pain points, making a case study based on these insights, building the positioning and messaging of the solution I came up with, etc.
I found out that 2 roles could allow me to do this: Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager. Although there are a lot of overlaps between these 2 roles, the former deals mainly with the product side, and the latter focuses more on the customer and marketing side of it.
That’s when I realized I wanted to become a Product Marketing Manager.
